Find Bradford County Jail Releases

To find someone released from Bradford County Jail, begin with the county system rather than a state prison locator. Bradford County release records can show that the jail stay ended, but the next destination still matters. Some people return to the community. Others move to another jail, a state institution, or another agency. A sound Bradford County Jail release search checks the released-person view, confirms the event with the office that keeps the jail record, and reads the court file when the legal reason for release is unclear.

Bradford Jail Release Meaning

A released timestamp in Bradford SmartWEB establishes that a named booking ended at Bradford County Jail. It does not always establish freedom in the community. A person may leave after bond, release on recognizance, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, or another court order. The same county booking can also end through transfer to the Florida Department of Corrections, transport to another county on a warrant, delivery to a federal agency, or movement under a hold. Those paths all remove the person from this jail's active custody.

Read the release date beside the booking and charge details, then ask what happened next. SmartWEB does not visibly provide a dependable release-reason field. A bond amount is not proof that bond was posted. A charge entry does not identify the releasing order. Holds may point toward another custodian, but the jail's release or transfer record is the source that can name the destination. The court docket can explain a bond order, dismissal, sentence, jail credit, or probation term, while the jail record supplies the actual exit time.

Key distinction: “Status: Released” means released from the Bradford booking. It does not, by itself, mean released to the community.

Search Bradford Jail Releases

The sheriff labels SmartWEB as Bradford County Inmate Search. Its form has Current Inmates Only, Released Inmates Only, and Both Current And Released modes. Choose the released mode for a past jail exit. Search by last, first, and middle name, or use beginning and ending release dates. The form also provides booking-date fields, sort controls, and an order control. Name spellings may vary, so a narrow search should be followed by a broader one if no result appears.

Live testing documented released results with exact timestamps and photographs. A one-day range returned seven records during the July 2026 research review, and the date range appeared inclusive. Other name searches found records several months old. That proves some historical depth, not a guaranteed archive. BCSO publishes neither a fixed retention window for the public interface nor a Bradford-specific refresh schedule. The form sends a POST request, so a completed result does not have a stable address that can be saved as a permanent results link.

  1. Select Released Inmates Only, not the default current view.
  2. Enter the best-known name or a narrow release-date range.
  3. Match the booking number, booking date, age, charges, and photograph carefully.
  4. Record the exact released date and time shown on the detail.
  5. Contact the jail or Records Unit when transfer or release type remains unclear.

Absence is inconclusive. The spelling may differ, the system may be unavailable, or an older entry may no longer appear online. The broader Bradford County released inmate search explains how to reconcile jail, court, VINE, and state records for one person.

Bradford Release Record Fields

A SmartWEB released detail joins release timing to the original booking. The fields help distinguish people with similar names and place the event in context. Yet no single displayed field replaces the missing release disposition. The useful items documented in live Bradford results include:

FieldWhat it can establish
Status and released timestampThat the named county booking ended and when the system records the exit
Booking and MNI numbersIdentifiers for matching the booking and framing a records request
Booking date and ageTiming and identity checks for the admission
Photograph and identity detailsA visual and biographical match to that booking record
Bond, charges, holds, and casesContext that may point to the court or another agency, not proof of release type

The exact release code, releasing authority, and receiving agency may require a formal record. Ask for the booking-and-release record, jail card or release report, and nonexempt disposition fields. If the exit followed a court action, compare it with the Bradford Clerk court-record portal. The docket shows what the court ordered; it may not show when jail staff finished processing the exit.

Bradford Jail Records Contact

BCSO instructs people to contact the jail for release dates. The jail line is the direct route for a recent status check. Ask whether the person remains in Bradford custody and, if not, whether the exit was a community release or a transfer. For a durable copy, use the BCSO Records Unit request page. It says the unit stores, retains, makes available, and disposes of agency records under Florida's public-record framework, subject to exemptions and redactions.

A focused request should name the person and give the booking or case number, approximate booking and release dates, and date of birth when appropriate. Ask for admission and release date and time, release type or code, releasing authority, transfer destination or receiving agency, holds disposition, and the booking photograph. BCSO posts copy charges of $0.15 per page and $1 per certified document, plus relevant duplication and postage costs. Extensive staff or technology use may result in a special-service charge and deposit after an estimate.

BCSO does not publish a universal fulfillment deadline or a separate booking-photo price. Request a good-faith estimate. A mailed request should include a self-addressed stamped envelope, enough postage, and a check for approved copying costs. Florida law permits access to nonexempt records, but it does not make every field public.

Where Bradford Releases Go

Custodian selection is especially important here. The county seat has Bradford County Jail, while nearby Raiford and Lawtey contain several FDC institutions. If the county release record names FDC, switch to the statewide offender databases. Search Inmate Release Information for a true discharge and Current Population for continued prison custody. Supervised Population may show parole, conditional release, probation, or another FDC-supervised status after physical release. A transfer to Florida State Prison is not a county community release.

If another county or federal agency is named, follow that custodian. A federal path may require the federal court docket and Bureau of Prisons locator. A genuine immigration transfer may require ICE's locator. No current ICE detention contract at Bradford County Jail was verified, so an immigration path should be used only when a record names such a hold or receiving agency. VINE can report a custody change from a participating agency, but a missing result never proves release.

Community release
The person leaves physical custody under a bond, court, or sentence-completion path.
Transfer
One facility's custody ends because another government custodian receives the person.
Time served
A court-recognized custodial term has been satisfied, though another case or supervision may remain.
Detainer
A request or hold that may direct transfer to another agency after the current custody ends.

Bradford Facility Transfer Problem

Bradford's correctional density creates a local naming trap. Florida State Prison, FSP West Unit, Lawtey Correctional Institution, and the New River legacy site occupy a small area near Union Correctional Institution. “Raiford,” “Starke,” or even “Bradford” in an old record may not identify the legal custodian. Union CI is in Union County. New River is temporarily closed. Each state institution still belongs to FDC's statewide record system, while the jail belongs to BCSO.

The New River closure gives a concrete warning. Prisoners and staff were reassigned when the institution closed in 2021. They were not all set free. In the same way, a location change from an active FDC institution can be an internal transfer. For a Bradford County Jail result, rely on the released timestamp plus the disposition or destination. For a prison record, rely on Date Out-Custody, release history, and any later supervision entry.

Bradford Jail Facility Facts

The Bradford County Sheriff's Office jail page identifies the North Temple Avenue complex in Starke. The sheriff says the jail was built in 1995, holds men and women, and uses maximum, medium, and minimum custody classifications. It also houses some people for other agencies. That last fact is important when reading a release: the agency responsible for a case and the agency holding the person are not always the same.

1995Year built, per BCSO
3Listed custody levels
1,2072024 inmate losses

BCSO's 2024 report counted an average daily jail population of 136, 1,183 inmate gains, and 1,207 inmate losses. Preserve the agency's term “losses.” It includes custody exits and may include transfers, so it is not a count of people released to the community. A separate FDC January 2026 county-detention snapshot reported an average daily population of 181. The two figures cover different periods and measures and should not be treated as conflicting release totals.

First appearance occurs daily around 10:00 a.m., according to BCSO. Bond information may remain unavailable until the judge's written order reaches jail staff. That processing gap can explain why a new booking lacks a useful bond amount. It does not establish that release was granted or denied.

An inmate may authorize another person to pick up personal property only from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. Questions about a release or booking belong with the jail or Records Unit. The sheriff's warrant page routes warrant-entry errors to BCSO IT at 904-966-2276, which is a correction channel rather than a release-confirmation line.
