Union CI County Boundary

FDC assigns Union Correctional Institution to Union County and lists Union Work Camp as its satellite. The prison belongs in Bradford's serving-area map because the Raiford correctional complex crosses familiar place-name boundaries. It must not be described as a Bradford County facility. BCSO does not keep its prison release record.

New River Work Camp is now Union Work Camp under Union CI. An older source may use the New River name while a current FDC record uses Union. That change reflects administration and location, not automatic community release. Match the DC number and custody dates.

Search Union CI Discharges

Use FDC's Offender Search menu. Inmate Release Information covers people already released or scheduled for release. Search by six-character DC number when available, or by first and last name with the alias option. Open the detail and match the identity fields.

1. Read Release Date and the sentence history.
2. Confirm Date Out-Custody in Incarceration History.
3. Search Current Population for another FDC location.
4. Search Supervised Population for a community term.
5. Contact FDC when the databases conflict.

A changed Union CI location is not enough. Release information updates nightly, and FDC warns that fast changes may not appear at once. A future Current Release Date can move and does not prove an event occurred.

Union Release Record Evidence

The offender detail can show DC number, committed name, aliases, photograph, Release Date, custody class, sentence history, and incarceration dates. Each field serves a distinct purpose.

The court judgment explains the sentence. FDC's record explains custody and discharge. Neither a Bradford jail roster nor a generic Raiford search replaces those sources.

Union CI Records Contact

Call the institution for facility operations. Use FDC central units for release, population, and location records. Include the DC number and exact dates in any request.

Formal copies may be requested through FDC's public-record page or GovQA. Ask for an existing incarceration history, release event, or location record rather than an undefined investigation.

Union CI Supervision Check

Supervised Population should be searched after a prison discharge when parole, conditional release, probation, or another FDC term may apply. Its complete refresh is weekly, with location and termination changes updated nightly. Physical release and final supervision discharge can fall on different dates.

Match the same DC number across release and supervision records. An absconder result means FDC reports the person missing from supervision. It does not show current Union CI custody or establish a new release.

Raiford Transfer Confusion

Florida State Prison, FSP West, New River's legacy site, and Union CI all use Raiford-area references. Lawtey CI is nearby. This density can make a place name look like proof of one facility. It is not. Union CI's official county designation and the person's DC history settle the issue.

New River's closure reassigned people, and its work camp became Union Work Camp. That change is the local warning against calling every facility departure a release. The official Union CI profile confirms the county and satellite relationship. The New River closure record explains the legacy name.

Union Release Date Labels

An FDC record can show a date that has not yet occurred. The scheduled-release detail calls the visible forecast Current Release Date. Florida Statutes section 944.275 uses tentative release date for the date projected through gain-time granted or forfeited. FDC says the forecast can change through awards, forfeitures, or review. TO BE SET means a date is still pending review. None of these values proves that Union Correctional Institution custody has ended.

A past event must be grounded in the release and incarceration history. Date In-Custody and Date Out-Custody mark the recorded span of an incarceration period. A Release Date is read with that history, not apart from it. Current Population then tests whether FDC still records the person at Union CI, Union Work Camp, or another prison. Supervised Population tests whether a state term continues outside prison.

Union Release Search Scope

Union CI and Union Work Camp are adult state-correctional placements under FDC. The Corrections Offender Network contains public-record information on felony offenders sentenced to the Department. It excludes county-jail custody, county probation, and other non-FDC supervision. A Bradford County arrest or court case does not place a person in the Union CI record unless the person later entered FDC custody.

The four main FDC searches serve separate purposes. Inmate Population concerns present prison status and location. Inmate Release concerns people already released and those scheduled for release. Supervised Population concerns people living outside prison under FDC field supervision. Absconder/Fugitive concerns a person who ceased making himself or herself available for supervision. Search the same DC number across the relevant databases before deciding that an absent location means discharge.

Release information updates nightly. Full population and supervision information refreshes weekly, with locations, release dates, and termination dates updated nightly. FDC cautions that public information can change quickly and may not reflect a true current status at once. A direct FDC contact is the proper next step when the databases conflict.

Union CI Record Requests

The online detail may settle a routine release question. When it does not, the record request should be narrow. The Bureau of Admission and Release handles release information at 850-488-9167 and dc.release@fdc.myflorida.com. Central Records handles population and location data at 850-488-9859 and central.classification@fdc.myflorida.com. Field Services handles supervision questions at 850-717-3444 and co-supervision@fdc.myflorida.com.

Formal public-record requests may go through FDC's public-record page or GovQA portal. FDC's documented public-record contact is at 501 South Calhoun Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399, with assistance at 850-717-9774. The agency reviews records for confidentiality and other exemptions. It need not create a custom report, research an undefined history, answer questions in place of producing records, or convert data to a format it does not keep.

1. Identify the person by committed name and DC number.
2. Name Union CI or Union Work Camp and the relevant period.
3. Ask for a release event, date-out entry, or location history.
4. Request the nonconfidential portions of any responsive record.
5. Compare the response with the court judgment and FDC detail.

A court judgment shows the sentence imposed. The FDC incarceration record shows state custody, placement, and date-out history. Bradford County Jail is not the custodian for either Union CI release source.

Union Release Supervision Path

A true prison release may lead to parole, conditional release, probation, or another FDC-supervised term. Florida divides this work. The Florida Commission on Offender Review makes parole and certain conditional-release decisions. FDC Community Corrections holds the public supervision entry and provides field offices. Parole is therefore not a broad name for every form of supervision.

Run the DC number through Supervised Population after confirming a past date out of prison. The detail may show the supervision type, status, location or office, start information, and termination date. A person may be outside Union Correctional Institution while the legal term remains active. Physical release and final discharge from supervision can occur on different days.

The Absconder/Fugitive search has a limited meaning. FDC uses it for someone who ceased making himself or herself available for supervision. An absconder result does not establish a fresh Union CI booking, return to prison, or new release. If supervision has ended, check the termination information and the relevant order before drawing that conclusion from a missing current result.

Union Work Camp Inheritance

Union Work Camp is not merely a similar name. FDC states that the former New River Work Camp is now Union Work Camp under Union Correctional Institution. The inherited satellite can make an older source and a current source appear to describe different people or custody events. Match the DC number, incarceration dates, and location history before treating the name change as a movement.

The 2021 New River closure is the local warning behind this check. Prisoners and staff were reassigned when the institution closed. That was not a broad community discharge. A current Union Work Camp reference may therefore continue a state-custody history that began under the New River name. Union CI itself remains in neighboring Union County, even when a Bradford-area search or Raiford place name brings it into view.

Use FDC for the full chain. Inmate Population can identify another prison placement. Inmate Release and Date Out-Custody address an actual or scheduled state exit. Supervised Population addresses the term that may follow. The sheriff's Bradford SmartWEB search is limited to Bradford County Jail and should not be called on to explain a Union CI discharge.

Union Release Confirmation Chain

The strongest confirmation uses records that answer different questions. Start with the FDC release detail and match more than the name. Confirm the DC number, committed name, sentence history, and incarceration period. Then compare the date-out entry with Current Population. A person recorded at another institution was transferred, not released to the community.

Next, check Supervised Population. A matching record can show that prison custody ended while field supervision continues. When the reason or legal authority matters, consult the court judgment or an FCOR order as applicable. The court source can document the sentence or release decision, while FDC documents the state custody event and supervision status.

Union CI's county boundary remains part of the final check. The prison and work camp are in Union County, not Bradford County. They appear in the Bradford County release system map because the Raiford corrections area and New River inheritance make them relevant to local record searches. That service connection never changes the official county or the FDC custodian.
